Märchen & TRUE STORIES
9. April - 23. April
a solo exhibition by Elena Osuna
MÄRCHEN is a series of realist works on paper exploring existential fears. Very meticulous drawings convey the tenderness and innocence of sleeping children, while colorful scenes intimate what the children might be dreaming about. There are wild animals and narrative scenes that could come from fairy tales.
The proximity of wild animals, which are neither kind hearted nor cruel, creates a tension that questions how we perceive the natural world and questions our contradictory relationship to that world.
The artwork invites the viewer to reflect on how we help our children and ourselves cope with these challenging issues.
